Community Guidelines

findit only works if a requirement is honest and a reply is real. These guidelines say what that means in practice for the people posting and the businesses answering.

Effective 9 August 2026 Applies to customers and businesses Beta · Bengaluru

1How findit works

A customer posts one structured requirement — what they want, roughly where, and roughly what they will spend. It is sent to at most five matching businesses. Those businesses reply from their inventory, each reply carrying a match score that states how much of the requirement it actually covers. The customer reads the replies and chooses who gets their phone number.

Nothing about that flow is negotiable. The cap of five, the requirement that replies describe real options, and the rule that a phone number moves only on an explicit tap are the product, not settings.

2Posting a requirement

Post a requirement you actually have, with the detail you actually want matched on.

  • Be accurate about budget and location. Both are used for matching. A budget you do not mean wastes your time first.
  • Use the advanced settings when the detail matters. Furnishing, possession date, fuel type, tenure — the more specific the requirement, the more honest the match score on the replies.
  • Upload only photos you have the right to use, as reference for what you are looking for. Do not upload identity documents, financial statements or photos of other people.
  • One requirement per need. Reposting the same requirement to reach more businesses defeats the cap and is treated as spam.
  • Close it when you are done. A requirement you have already fulfilled keeps businesses working on it.

Do not post on behalf of someone else without their knowledge, and do not post to collect market intelligence, test the platform, or generate leads for your own business.

3Responding as a business

The core rule

You reply with a listing, not a pitch. For property and vehicles that means a real option with a locality, a price and photos. There is no free-text sales message on those categories, by design.

  • Only reply with something you can actually supply. Advertising an option you do not have, to open a conversation, is bait-and-switch and is grounds for removal.
  • Prices must be the price. If there are unavoidable additional charges, say so in the listing rather than at the phone call.
  • Photos must be of the actual property or vehicle. Stock images, renders presented as photographs, and photos of a different unit are misrepresentation.
  • Do not respond below the match floor. The platform enforces a minimum match score server-side; replies that do not cover enough of the requirement are rejected, and repeated attempts to work around it are reviewed.
  • Decline honestly. If nothing you have fits, decline with a reason. It costs nothing and it keeps your response quality intact.

Categories that hold no stock — loan, insurance and credit card — reply with a headline and message instead. The same honesty rules apply: quoted rates, limits and eligibility must be ones you can actually offer.

4Contact, and what happens after

A customer's name and number reach a business only when the customer taps to share them on a specific reply. Until that moment the business does not have them — they are absent from the data the business receives, not hidden in it.

Once contact has been shared, businesses must:

  • Contact the customer only about that requirement.
  • Stop contacting them on request, immediately and permanently.
  • Never add the number to a marketing list, a broadcast group, or any bulk messaging tool.
  • Never sell, rent, publish or pass the number to another business, including a partner or sister firm.
  • Delete the contact details when the enquiry is closed or when the customer withdraws consent.
Zero tolerance

Reselling or bulk-messaging customer contact details ends the account on the first confirmed instance, without warning, and any wallet balance is forfeited. This is the one rule the entire product is built to protect.

5Prohibited on findit

Regardless of which side you are on:

  • Fake, duplicate, automated or bulk-created accounts; one phone number is one account.
  • Impersonating a person, a builder, a lender, a dealer, or findit itself.
  • Discrimination in a listing or a reply on the basis of religion, caste, region, gender, marital status, disability or food preference — including "vegetarians only" style restrictions on housing.
  • Requests for advance payment, deposits, "registration fees" or token amounts made through the platform. findit never asks a customer for money, and no legitimate reply will.
  • Anything unlawful in India, including unlicensed lending or insurance distribution, and any offer that requires a registration you do not hold.
  • Harassment, threats, obscenity or repeated unwanted contact.
  • Scraping, automated posting, reverse engineering, or any attempt to enumerate customers or businesses. See the API Policy.

6How we enforce this

Every admin action taken on a customer or business account is logged. Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may:

ActionWhen it is used
Remove a response or requirementInaccurate listing, wrong photos, prohibited content
Reject a business at reviewThe applicant cannot show they operate in the category they claimed. A written reason is always given
Restrict matchingRepeated low-quality or misleading replies
Suspend an accountPattern of breaches, or a single serious one. The account sees a notice and a support number
Permanently removeMisuse of contact data, fraud, impersonation, or unlawful activity

Suspension of a business does not delete requirements already answered, and it does not revoke a customer's ability to see replies they have already received.

7Reporting a problem

Report a listing, a reply, or a caller from within the app, or write to support@getfindit.online with the reference code of the requirement. Include the reference code, the business name and what happened — reports with a reference code are actioned considerably faster.

If your concern is about how your personal data was handled, it goes to the Grievance Officer instead. Contact details and response timelines are in the Privacy Policy.

8Changes

These guidelines will change as the product does — new categories, new cities, and whatever the beta teaches us. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. The date at the top of this page is always the version in force.
